Basic dog training canine certificate program for dogs six months and older takes approximately 12 weeks in before being able to have a skill set to compete in AKC Novice A trials.   Completion of one leg of the AKC three leg requirement for the Companion Dog certificate is required to obtain a certificate from Mannerly Mutts.

Exercises that are covered in this are attention, loose leash walking, heel, sit, down, stay, recall, stand, and place.   Client's must pass test given by instructor in order to earn a certificate of completion of Mannerly Mutts basic training course. 


Example of heeling both on and off leash with slow, normal and fast pace.   Auto sits are also required. (you really do need to know both, even though they look exactly the same, communication becomes different to the dog, though off leash may be taught in an advanced class if the e-collar is not the tool of choice, depending on the skill level and commitment level of owner/handler):
